    The elementary classrooms at North Iowa Community School got a complete makeover this summer, including new ceilings, floors, and furnishings. The new drop ceilings will help to reduce noise and feature adjustable lights. New windows are only partially complete, as the top portion of the windows were installed over the summer, and the bottom, operable windows are expected to arrive by early November.

  • An excavator tears down the old Rake building. Part of the building still stands behind it, while a sidewalk closed sign sits infront of the demolition zone.
    Troy Fleener of Advanced Concrete made quick work of tearing down the bulk of the Rake school building last Tuesday, Sept. 7. It will be a slower process to sort through all the building materials, as the City of Rake plans to recycle as much as possible thanks to a grant from the DNR Derelict Building Grant Program.
