Majella Flugum
Majella R. Flugum, 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 – one day shy of her 92nd birthday at the Lake Mills Care Center surrounded by family. Funeral services for Majella will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7 at Winnebago Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills. Interment will be at the Winnebago Church Cemetery.
Majella Ruth (Schnebly) was born on June 5, 1932 in Kanawha, to parents Ralph and Eleanor (Goodrich) Schnebly. She grew up in Thompson, graduating in 1949. Growing up, she attended the United Methodist Church in Thompson.
On July 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Flugum at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple was blessed with three children: Linda, Alan, and Scott. Together, Don and Majella farmed and raised their family together in rural Lake Mills. Majella and Don were members at Winnebago Lutheran Church in rural Lake Mills.
Majella enjoyed reading, quilting and sewing, going on car rides, traveling and taking pictures. She was also an excellent baker – cinnamon bread and cookies were her specialty!
Majella is survived by her children, Alan (Deanna) Flugum and Scott (Joan) Flugum; grandchildren, Alison (Nathan) Shannon, Michael (Jill) Flugum, Brandon (Angela Strait) Flugum, Brad Koppen, Lucas (Jen) Flugum, Marisa (fiancé Barry Nielsen) Koppen, and Amber Haufle; great-grandchildren, Slade Sifuentes, Leighton and Taelynne Flugum, McKenzie Flugum, Brielle and Jaelyn Fox, Cooper and Lance Koppen, Cruz and Kingsten Flugum, Londyn and Toryn Bell, Clayton, Annabelle and Kimberly Nielsen, Melinda, Lydia, Fiona and Isabella Haufle; a sister, Leona Guzman; as well as many extended relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Donald in 2005; daughter, Linda (Clete) Sharp; brothers, Loren Schnebly and Dexter Schnebly; and a sister, Kathy Brewster.
