The 2024 legislative session is underway at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines, where legislators got back to work on Monday, Jan. 8 for the 90th Iowa General Assembly. The North Iowa area is once again represented in Des Moines by Rep. Henry Stone of Forest City and Sen. Dave Rowley of Spirit Lake.
Stone says some of the top priorities in the House this year will include child safety, both in education and online social media, as well as curbing hospital and nursing home costs, and addressing illegal immigration and its effects on our state.
