Emily Winkleman
Emily Winkleman, 93, of Blue Earth, MN and formerly of Lakota, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Community Chapel, Lakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Olena Mound Cemetery.
Emily Cecelia (Richardson) Winkleman was born July 14, 1927, in Blue Earth, MN the daughter of Harvey and Zella (Madison) Richardson.
Emily married Ervin Winkleman on October 7, 1946, in Blue Earth. They moved to the family farm west of Ledyard. In 1952, they moved to another family farm west of Lakota, where they lived until 1978 when they built their house south of Community Chapel, where they lived until 2017. Emily spent her remaining years at Friendship Court in Blue Earth.
Emily and Ervin were members of the Blue Earth Assembly of God Church until 1972, when the Lakota Community Chapel was built. She enjoyed camping, working in her garden, doing puzzles, and crocheting. Emily loved spending time with family and being a farm wife.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Linda) Winkleman of Pillager, MN and Duane (Joy) Winkleman of Ledyard; three daughters, Carmen (Dar) Michaelsen of Mentone, IN, Verlaine (Dan) Beenken of Buffalo Center, and Rhonda (Rollie) Kruse of Toronto, SD; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; her parents, two brothers, Russell and Bill Richardson, and sister, Ellen (Duane) Marsh.
