Winnebago County testing care center workers, law enforcement

Winnebago County, in partnership with Hancock and Kossuth counties, conducted COVID-19 Surveillance testing on Tuesday, June 9. This testing was made available to health care workers of long term care centers, assisted living, law enforcement and EMS in Winnebago County. This was not a Test Iowa site, and testing was not open to the public.

There are two main categories of testing: PCR and serology testing. A positive PCR test indicates a current COVID-19 infection, while a positive serology test detects antibodies and indicates a past or recent COVID-19 infection. Both types of testing will help public health officials understand the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
