Lorraine Stewart

Lorraine Betty Stewart, age 97, died peacefully surrounded by family on October 28, 2024, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, MN. Funeral services were Friday, November 1 at the Eagle Center in Lakota. Burial was at Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center.

Born on May 29, 1927, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Lorraine was the cherished daughter of Everett and Andrea (Hauskin) Sleper. She spent her early years in Buffalo Center before moving to Lakota during her high school years. She was deeply bonded with her identical twin sister, Lillian, who tragically passed away at the age of 16.

On July 8, 1946, Lorraine married the love of her life, Robert Stewart. Together, they raised three children and shared a devoted partnership until Robert's passing in 2012. A woman of deep faith, she cherished sharing thoughts of our Lord and attending Meeting.

She is survived by her children: Daughter: Andrea Silfverston of Laughlin, NV; Sons: Robert Stewart (wife Pat) of Jackson, MN and Alanson Stewart (wife Susan) of Lakeville, MN; Grandchildren: Lance Petrich (Michelle), Nathan Stewart (Allyson), Sarah Stewart, Torey Stewart (Jamie), Ashley Stewart, Megan Stewart, Taylor Stewart and Drew Stewart (Gillian). She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and close family friend, Denny Dunham.

Lorraine was preceded in death by: Her beloved husband, Robert Stewart; Her parents, Everett and Andrea Sleper; Her twin sister, Lillian; Siblings: Norman Sleper, Alfa Hertzke (Otto), Marion Dontje (Edwin), Verdeen Sleper; Nieces and nephews: Marilyn Eichenberger, Cheryl Shoemaker, Gayle Dontje; In-laws: John Stewart Sr. (Lygie), Harry Stewart (Eleanor), Elaine Hoppe (Don), John Stewart Jr.

Lorraine’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
