COVID-19 numbers for February 16-22

Local COVID-19 numbers look a little different this week, as the State of Iowa has stopped reporting on the number of individuals testing positive for the illness and is instead reporting on the number of tests. The new numbers show activity was low over the past week, however, in Winnebago and Kossuth Counties.

In Winnebago County, four tests came back positive between February 16-22, for a total of 1,360 positive tests in the county. The 7-day positivity rate was 2%. No additional deaths were reported.

In Kossuth County, 22 tests were positive between February 16-22, and there have been 2,056 positive tests in the county since the pandemic began. The 7-day positivity rate was 6%. Two new deaths were reported in Kossuth County, for a total of 54.

Vaccinations continue, with 1,102 people in Winnebago County receiving their first dose of the vaccine and 273 individuals completing their vaccine series. In Kossuth County, 1,915 residents have received their first dose of the vaccine, and 465 have received their second dose.
