County prepares for next phase of vaccine rollout

Winnebago County Public Health and Winnebago County Emergency Management are pleased to announce a partnership with three local businesses to assist in the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. Miller Pharmacy, HyVee Forest City Pharmacy and MercyOne Forest City Clinic will be allocated doses of the vaccine to distribute and administer to individuals 65 years of age and older, once it arrives sometime after February 1.

Public Health will be able to focus its efforts on the tiered priority populations outlined in phase 1b, as defined by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

At this time, the expected quantities of the vaccine are unknown and will be determined by the State of Iowa. Allocated amounts will be divided in half and administered to the age group and the priority groups equally.
