South Park ball field gets an upgrade

The ball field at Buffalo Center’s South Park has a brand-new dirt infield, thanks to the efforts of volunteers. Youth coaches have been looking for more practice space for a couple of years, due to the large number of kids interested in playing on summer ball teams.

Coach Brant Boekelman spoke with the Buffalo Center City Council in May about purchasing a load of diamond dust for the existing ball diamond at Lions Park, with volunteers doing the work. While they’re at it, he also requested the Council’s permission to put in a dirt infield at South Park.
