Glenda Ackerman

Glenda C. Ackerman, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. A celebration of life will be planned for this summer.

Glenda was born on June 9, 1944 to Milford and Margreta Hanna. On October 19, 1964, Glenda was united in marriage to Darel Kramer, and they made Buffalo Center their home. To this marriage, they welcomed two daughters, Brenda and Dawn. Glenda attended cosmetology school and opened a hair salon in the basement of their home. Later in life, she and Darel operated a mowing/snow removal business in which she loved the outdoor mowing to see how tan she could get. She also loved meeting up with friends and bowling on a league. After Darel’s passing in 1983, she worked at Telex in Blue Earth, MN and the Timely Mission Nursing Home.

When entering the retirement life, Glenda started as a “snow bird” going to Arizona a couple months out of winter to spend more time with her brother Larry. Eventually she made the decision to move to Arizona permanently and lived most of her retirement years in Ft. Mohave, Arizona. She would make the trip back to the area for a couple months each summer, spending time with her kids and their families, but also visiting with lifetime friends in Buffalo Center.

A woman of faith, Glenda was an active member of both the First Reformed Church while residing in Buffalo Center and then the United Methodist Church in Ft. Mohave. She loved her church family and friends that she made there.

Glenda had a passion for Swedish weaving, particularly blankets, which were mostly given as gifts to her family and friends. She really could make beautiful blankets, and friends that watched the progress she made on them could hardly wait to see the final product. She also cherished her coffee time with friends.

Glenda is survived by her daughters: Brenda (Bill) Worrell; Dawnita (Joe) Isder; grandchildren: Jessica, Trevor, Justin, Trenton, Conner and Marissa; great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Archie, Mya, Mycah, Tyler, Isaac, Kaiden, Jazmin and Liam; her brother Roger (Dorie) Hanna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milfod and Margreta Hanna; her first husband, Daryl; her second husband, Arlo; and her brother, Larry Hanna.
