Elevator demolition gets underway

Buffalo Center’s elevator building is coming down piece by piece, as demolition work on the concrete silos got underway Monday, Feb. 3. StateLine Cooperative enlisted Advanced Concrete Inc. to carry out the demolition of the elevator, which has not been used since 2022 due to deteriorating conditions. The concrete structure will be nibbled apart bit by bit by an attachment mounted to a large excavator. Demolition is expected to take a few months, and sections of the streets around the elevator have been blocked off for safety concerns.
