Zion program remembers Al Bell

Zion Lutheran Church will welcome Becky Bell-Greenstreet, who will present a program about her father, Al Bell, at the church on Wednesday, June 27 at 7 p.m. Many locals who attended school in the 1950s, 60s and 70s may remember Al Bell.

He traveled the world with his wife, Rhea, for 30 years, and he brought back stories, artifacts and costumes that he shared with students at more than 400 rural Iowa schools.

Some of the countries he visited included Spain, Kenya, Greece, Morocco, Romania and Egypt.

Becky wrote a book about her father, “The Story of a Beloved World Traveler: Al Bell Remembered.” She will share stories during the June 27 program about growing up with her dad and their adventures.
