Veterans Day banquet Sunday in Lakota

Hunting with Heroes invites all area veterans and spouses to commemorate Veterans Day on Sunday, Nov. 11, with an all-expenses-paid banquet at the Eagle Center in Lakota. Social hour begins at 4:00 p.m., with a program at 4:30, followed by a fully catered meal.

Sunday’s banquet follows a special weekend of pheasant hunting in the Lakota area, as Hunting with Heroes hosts Marines from the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC.

Numerous prizes will be awarded at the banquet, including three commemorative rifles that will be given to local veterans. A new donor for one of the rifles this year is the family of Burdette “Hoppy” Hoeppner.

Hoppy, who passed away in August, was a veteran of the Army Air Force – having served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Czechoslovakia during World War II.
