Track and field underway at Osage

     The North Iowa track and field season kicked off last Monday, Apr. 7 at Osage, where the boys placed fourth and girls took sixth in their first meet of the year.

     The boys did well in the relays, with first place finishes in the 4x800, 4x200 and 4x400. Connor Smith also took a first place finish in the 1600 meter run, and Spencer Armstrong placed second in the 200 meters.

     Osage took first place among the boys with a score of 132, followed by Saint Ansgar 128, West Fork 102, North Iowa 72, Cresco 60, Nashua-Plainfield 34, RRMR 17 and Riceville 12.

     Top finishers for the girls included Krista Hovland, who took second in the 400 meter hurdles and tied for second in the high jump.

     West Fork claimed first place in the girls’ portion of the meet with a score of 129, followed by Charles City with 115, Saint Ansgar 103, Osage 100, Nashua-Plainfield 49, North Iowa 37, Riceville 33 and RRMR 20.
