Sunday is Commencement Day for the North Iowa High School Class of 2016

     The 28 members of the North Iowa High School Class of 2016 will cap off their high school careers this coming Sunday, May 22, as they receive their diplomas during Commencement exercises in the high school gymnasium. Commencement is set to begin at 2 p.m., featuring speeches by seniors Samantha Sevley and Izacc Quisling, the presentation of scholarships and awards, the Ceremony of the Rose, and the presentation of diplomas.

     Four young ladies from the Class of 2016 are shown in the top photo as they prepare for Commencement. Representing the four communities of the North Iowa School District are, from left: Ashley Baumann, daughter of Alan and Sue Baumann of Lakota; Cassandra Burke, daughter of Scott and Carolyn Flo of Thompson and James Burke, Sr. from St. Charles, MN; Sydney Main, daughter of Randy and Monica Main of Buffalo Center; and Megan Davis, daughter of Dale and Christina Davis of Rake. These same young ladies are shown in the below photo on their first day of high school on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.

     The public is invited to attend Sunday’s Commencement ceremony, as the seniors complete an important chapter in their lives and look to begin their next adventures.
