Spring thaw brings busy week for track

     The North Iowa track teams finally had a normal week of competition in the final week of April, as they took part in a total of four meets.

     On Monday, the boys’ team got things started off with a trip to Estherville, where they competed in the 9th Annual Estherville Boys Relays. The Bison placed in three events, including a win in the distance medley relay.

     Next up on Tuesday, the Bison traveled to Garner for the GHV boys’ relays. Isaiah Walk had second place finishes in the 100 meters and 200 meters, while Nate Beenken placed second in the 800 meters.

     Meanwhile on Tuesday, the Lady Bison traveled to Waldorf University and competed in the Forest City girls’ relays. Cas Peterson took third place in the 400 meters, as North Iowa placed in six events.

     The Bison and Lady Bison traveled to Armstrong on Thursday for the coed John Larson relays. Top finishers for the boys were the distance medley team in first place, while the top finisher for the girls was Kenzie Bengtson in the discus with second place.
