Speech Extravaganza Thursday at North Iowa

The speech students at North Iowa High School invite the public to a night of entertainment this Thursday, Apr. 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the North Iowa School Commons. The students will put on a Speech Extravaganza, which will showcase some of the different performances they have done throughout the speech season.

Performances will include individual events, such as acting, storytelling, prose, poetry and solo musical theatre, as well as large group events, such as readers theatre, short film and TV news.

In conjunction with the event, high school art students will also display some of the artworks they’ve completed this school year.

The evening promises to have the audience laughing, but students will also act out some of the tougher subjects our young people face today.

“It’s amazing – the talent here at North Iowa,” said speech coach Cheri Mayland. “If you’re wondering what speech is all about, and want to see some amazing artwork, come to our Extravaganza.”

Popcorn will be served, and free will donations will be accepted. Any money raised will go toward the NIHS speech department.
