Sheriff investigates shooting in rural Thompson
One person was hospitalized Friday, June 1, after suffering a gunshot wound in rural Thompson. The Winnebago County Office reports that a 911 call came in at 1:54 p.m. Friday, stating a male had been shot at 8559 390th St. in Thompson. Officers responded to the scene, and the injured person was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.
The sheriff’s office says the incident is still under investigation, and more details will be released at a later date.
Assisting at the scene were the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa DNR, Forest City Police, Britt Police, Buffalo Center Ambulance, and Forest City Ambulance.
