School bids farewell to eight staff members

The North Iowa school staff welcomed one new face and bid farewell to eight familiar ones during a special lunch on their last day of the school year on May 31. New elementary/ middle school principal Shawn Miller from Forest City came to introduce herself to the staff, as she will replace Jill Schutjer at North Iowa next year.

Schutjer, who is leaving to serve as principal of Lucia Wallace Elementary School in Algona, also recognized her fellow staff members who are leaving this year. They include:

Kindergarten Prep teacher Joanne Trio, who is moving to Maple River, MN to teach Kindergarten; second grade teacher Ashley Berkland, who will teach fourth grade at Bishop Garrigan in Algona; and Spanish teacher Julia Storby, who is moving on from teaching.
