Radium Girls showing Friday and Saturday night

The NIHS fall play production of Radium Girls will be held this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14 and 15, with shows beginning at 7 p.m. each evening in the North Iowa Auditorium.

Tickets are $5 at the door. Radium Girls is based on the true story of factory workers who fell ill after using radium to paint watch dials in the 1920s. The play traces the efforts of Grace Fryer and Kathryn Schuab, dial painters, as they fight for their day in court to seek justice for themselves and their fellow dial painters. Their chief adversary is their former employer, Arthur Roeder, who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the illnesses killing the dial painters in his factory.
