Price debuts new photography studio

Jamie Lynn Price invites the public to help her celebrate the opening of her new photography studio with an open house this Wednesday afternoon. Her new studio is located at 415 1st Ave. NW, the site of the former Casey’s store, and people are invited to check out the renovated space on November 28 from 4-7 p.m.

Jamie, the owner of Jamie Lynn Photography, has been taking photos professionally since 2013. She previously had a studio in the old bank building downtown, but as her business has grown, she was in need of a larger space.

“I’ve always loved photography,” said Jamie. She says she bought her first DSLR camera while studying abroad as a student at Iowa State University. A friend who now does photography for national magazines helped Jamie pick out her camera in Japan, as she spent a semester at sea. She took a photography class at ISU, and she’s also taught herself a lot. She says friends started asking her to take photos here and there, and she eventually decided to try her hand at taking photos professionally.

Jamie says she does a little bit of everything with her photography, including weddings, family portraits, newborns, children, senior portraits, and other events. “I like the variety,” she says. “It definitely keeps me busy.” One thing she’d like to get into is destination photography, for things like engagement trips.
