Parks and playgrounds reopen

Iowa’s outdoor playgrounds are among the latest facilities to reopen, as Governor Kim Reynolds continues to relax restrictions put in place due to COVID-19. Playgrounds were allowed to reopen last Monday, June 1, and the City of Buffalo Center took down the caution tape covering equipment at the town’s parks.

While the City will not be taking any special cleaning measures at the parks, City Clerk Deb Landheer says they encourage people to use common sense when playing and congregating at the parks.

North Iowa Community School has also reopened its playground at the school in Buffalo Center, and the school will be cleaning the playground on weekdays. People are asked to maintain social distancing with others who are not in the same household. The school also encourages people to wear masks at the playground, but they are not required.
