NIB hosts Festival of Tables

North Iowa Betterment hosted its inaugural Festival of Tables on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Heritage Town Center in Buffalo Center. There were a total of 11 tables decorated by various local groups, and 57 people came out to enjoy a meal and entertainment. Sitting down for lunch at the Scandinavian-themed table are, from left: Ginger Dearing, Carolyn Skogen, Connie Brooks, Diane Matthias, and Louise Hagedorn.

NIB Director Beth Matheson says this new event went very well. “We had a good crowd, and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves,” said Matheson. The menu for the event included chicken salad made by Matheson, rye bread made by Gerhald Maass, and cupcakes made by Sharla Hassebroek. Entertainment included music by Homespun and Charlie Wycoff, plus a style show by Sarah Newton of Sweet Countryside Boutique.

Matheson says she hopes to bring the event back next September.
