New postmaster in Buffalo Center

The Buffalo Center Post Office has a new postmaster, effective Tuesday, May 31. Angie Tompkins of Forest City has taken over the position previously held by Lynne Zimmerman, who has taken a new job at the West Bend Post Office.

Zimmerman, who lives in Whittemore, says it will be nice to work closer to home, as West Bend is only about a seven mile drive for her. She says she’s enjoyed working in Buffalo Center for the past four and a half years, and she’ll probably come back to help out at the post office on July 1 during the Quasquicentennial celebration. The post office will be using a special cancellation stamp on mail sent that day, featuring the Quasquicentennial logo.
