Mayor fires police officer, says he was not ‘good fit’

Buffalo Center is once again without a police officer, after Mayor John Davids terminated the employment of officer Dustin Buck, effective March 20.

Davids says Buck was unable to abide by some of the rules and regulations he had set down for the police department, and he felt Buck was not a good fit for the community.

“I was receiving quite a few phone calls and texts from various citizens of the town that weren’t happy with the service we were getting from our interim police chief,” said Davids.
