Matheson takes over as NIB director

     Beth Matheson is the new Executive Director at North Iowa Betterment, after Alyssa Thompson gave up the position last month.

     The NIB Board of Directors named Matheson as their choice for the position last week, and she started at NIB last Tuesday.

     Matheson, from Rake, retired last August after working for 23 years in the beauty industry. She used to own a salon in Rake, and she served for a number of years as a salon consultant – traveling from place to place to help salons with their businesses.

     Matheson says she’s been interested in NIB since the organization began. She says she’s worked on a lot of community projects in Rake, including involvement with the Community Club and working with the Rake Tractor Ride. Now that she’s retired, she’s looking forward to helping with more things in the community.
