Lakota to vote for new mayor

Residents in Lakota will select a new mayor on Election Day next Tuesday, with one candidate appearing on the ballot. Nate Heidecker is seeking public office for the first time as he runs for mayor of Lakota. The mayor’s seat was vacated this summer by Doug Price, who moved out of the area.

Heidecker is a lifetime farmer, and he has worked for Christensen Farms taking care of 8,000 head of pigs since 2007. He has been a member of the Lakota Fire Department since 2015. He is a graduate of North Kossuth High School.

Heidecker says he’s running for office to get involved with the people of the town and hear their concerns and suggestions, and he says he’ll address them accordingly. He also wants to be a helping hand and be more involved with the community.
