Lakota Quasqui shares fundraising proceeds

The Lakota Quasquicenten- nial Committee raised more than enough money for Lako- ta’s 125th birthday celebration this past July, and it’s giving away the extra proceeds to local organizations. So far, the com- mittee has given back $3,000 to the community; with plans to give back more.

The Lakota Fire Department, Lakota Ambulance, Library, North Iowa 4-Hers, Lakota Eagle Center, and the Lakota Betterment Club/Museum each received a check for $500 from the Lakota Quasquicentennial funds, which consist of do- nations and grants from local community members and businesses, as well as donors outside of the Lakota community.
