Lady Bison have strong showing against Forest City

The North Iowa volleyball team won a set over Forest City for the first time in six years last Tuesday, as the Lady Bison hosted the Indians in a 3-1 loss. North Iowa lost the first set 11- 25, but the Lady Bison proved to be a challenge for the Indians the rest of the night. They lost the second set 20-25 before winning the third set, 25-22. North Iowa pushed the final set into extra points but came up short, 24-26.

“Despite the score of the first game, I was much happier with the way we played than I had been,” said Lady Bison Head Coach Micah Peters. “By the second game, our strong defense was allowing us to run an offense that kept Forest City on their heels. Our win in the third game was the first time since 2013 that North Iowa has taken a set from Forest City and the first time Forest City has dropped a conference set since October 2017. That was a big deal for us.

“Game four we should have closed out, but we let the momentum swing to their favor after our big lead and ended up playing down to the wire,” said Coach Peters. “Cas Peterson and Leah Kramersmeier were outstanding in the front row, and Sydney and Hannah did a great job at setting our hitters up for success.”
