Lady Bison come out strong in loss to Lake Mills

The North Iowa volleyball team took a set over conference powerhouse Lake Mills last Tuesday night, while they ultimately fell in a 1-3 loss in Buffalo Center.

The Lady Bison scored 25-20 to win the first game of the night, but they trailed 17-25 in set two and scored 12-25 in both the third and fourth games.

“It was incredible to see the girls play that level of volleyball, because of I’ve known from the first day of practice that they’re capable of that, and it was nice to see them really come out all guns blazing,” said Head Coach Micah Peters.

She says winning a set over the Bulldogs was a great way to cap off a busy portion of their schedule that has seen the Lady Bison take down some bigger teams.

“[Lake Mills] is always tough, and there are not a lot of teams that come out and punch them in the teeth like that in game one. We felt really good about that,” said Peters.

Coach Peters notes that North Iowa hasn’t won a set over Lake Mills in at least 12 years, which is as far as their stats go back.
