Ladies make it to Regional semifinal

The North Iowa Lady Bison made it deep into the Class 1A Region 5 volleyball tournament last week, beginning with a win over Rockford on Monday, Oct. 23 in their quarterfinal game. The Lady Bison hosted as they put the Warriors away in three sets, scoring 25-16, 25-19 and 25-16.

“The girls came out strong against Rockford. They played with high energy and high emotion throughout the night,” said Lady Bison Head Coach Micah Peters. “Considering Rockford beat us 1-2 a week and half ago, I was really happy with the outcome of the game. It was also a great way for our seniors to wrap up their season on our home court.”

Katelin Adams led North Iowa in kills for the night with seven, followed by Kenzie Bengtson with six and Jenna Berschman with five. Rachel Schutter went 19/19 at the serving line with two aces, followed by Bengtson 17/18 and Hannah Main 14/14 with one ace. The Lady Bison advanced to the Regional semifinal game on Thursday, Oct. 26, as they took on the Tripoli Panthers in neutral Rockford.
