Johnson takes crown as Winnebago County Fair Queen

     2015 Winnebago County Fair Queen Rebecca Murray passed on her title to the 2016 Fair Queen, Halle Jo Johnson, during the opening day of the Winnebago County Fair last Thursday, July 21. Johnson, from Leland, is the 17-year-old daughter of Mark Johnson and Lana Heins.

     Taking the runner-up spot in this year’s fair queen pageant was Ivey Greensky, the 18-year-old daughter of Dana and Katy Greensky of Buffalo Center. Greensky had a chance to take on some of the fair queen duties, as she handed out trophies and ribbons during the swine show on Saturday, in which Johnson was busy showing her animals.

     Also participating in the pageant this year was Karissa Heath, the 16-year-old daughter of Sarah Heath of Lake Mills.
