Individual speech acts advance to state

The North Iowa High School speech team competed in the District Individual Events Contest in Clear Lake on February 24, where participants earned “I” ratings in six categories to advance to state.

Those moving on include Sam Davis with two pieces, as she earned “I” ratings in both Storytelling and Acting. Joey Goetz advances in Improv, Ella Hughes in Poetry, Naddie Myer in Literary Program, and Jordan Ostrander in Prose. Receiving “II” ratings at the district contest were Mia Blodgett in Acting, Jeremy Dirksen in Improv, and Charlie Wycoff in Musical Theatre.

The State Individual Events Contest will be held this Saturday, March 10 at Starmont High School in Arlington.
