Indians fourth at Forest City Invitational

     The Forest City Indians hosted the Forest City Invitational wrestling tournament last Saturday, Jan. 10, where they took fourth place out of eight teams.

     The Indians placed one champion, as Beau Sorenson (170) pinned Charles City’s Conor Sherman in the semifinals and won a 3-0 decision over Clear Lake’s Logan Wilcke in the first place match.

     Second place finishers for the Indians were Alec Fett (106), Pierce Gelhaus (138) and Alex Paulson (220). In third place were Maverick Freerksen (132) and Austin Lewis (145). Will Kirschbaum (113) placed fourth, along with Landon Josten (160) and Noah Paulson (190). In fifth were Paul Olson (138) and Adam Eden (285). Easton Jacobs (152) placed sixth, as did Triston Springer (182).

     Charles City won the meet with a team total of 214.5, followed by Oelwein 213, Clear Lake 205.5, Forest City 146.5, Algona 74, Saint Ansgar 60, Emmetsburg 55 and West Fork 42.
