Husband and wife star in White Christmas

A Buffalo Center couple with years of theatre experience will act opposite one another for the first time in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.

Pastor Nate and Liz Hedin-Schmidt play two of the four leads in the musical, which is a production of Brickstreet Theatre in Forest City. Nate plays Bob Wallace, who was portrayed in the original 1954 movie by Bing Crosby, while Liz plays his romantic interest, Betty Haynes, who was origi- nally played by Rosemary Cloo- ney. Coincidentally, another real-life couple plays the oth- er two leads in the musical, as Ben and Molly Schrade of Clear Lake portray Phil Davis and Judy Haynes.

Both Nate and Liz have strong backgrounds in music, as Nate received his undergraduate de- gree in vocal performance, and Liz earned both her undergrad- uate and master’s degrees in music. In addition to theatre, Liz previously worked on films in the twin cities. In their day jobs, Nate serves as pastor for Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Buffalo Center, while Liz works at Winter Dental.
