Hunting with Heroes plans race night

All area veterans are invited to enjoy a free evening at the Kossuth County Speedway during the Hometown Heroes Race on Thursday, July 26. Admission is free for all veterans, and each veteran will get two free drinks and at least a $20 gift certificate. Many more prizes will be given away, including two commemorative Henry Golden Boy rifles.

The event is being organized by the Hunting with Heroes organization from Lakota, in conjunction with the Kossuth County Speedway.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with hot laps at 7 p.m.

Two of the cars in that night’s races will also debut new patriotic paint jobs, including Ted Reutzel’s A-Modified and Derek Green’s Stock Car. Veterans will be paired with cars/drivers in both the A-Mod and Stock Car features for a chance to win prizes.

Another special feature for the day is Purple Heart Gunnery Sergeant William Davidson, who will share stories from the battlefield in Afghanistan.

This is the second year for the special salute to veterans at the Kossuth County Speedway. Last year, more than 150 veterans attended. All veterans are invited to come and enjoy the free evening of entertainment.
