Giving Tree underway to help North Iowa families

     Help to make this Christmas special for area families by taking part in the 16th annual Giving Tree event, coordinated by the North Iowa Ministerial Association.

     Each year, students at North Iowa Community School decorate ornaments, which contain information about a gift for an anonymous child in need. Community members are asked to pick up an ornament, purchase the gift indicated, and return the gift and ornament to the same location by Friday, Dec. 12. Ornaments are on display at the Buffalo Center Post Office, Farmers Trust and Savings Bank in Buffalo Center and Lakota, Titonka Savings Bank in Thompson and State Savings Bank in Rake.

     Giving Tree helps approximately 30 families each holiday season, and two gifts of clothing and one toy have been requested for each child.
