Forest City wrestlers fourth at Districts

Two Forest City wrestlers took fourth place in their weight divisions at the Class 2A District 3 wrestling meet in Clear Lake on Saturday, Feb. 9.

At 106 pounds, Forest City’s Brock Moore faced Jacob Mielke of Pocahontas Area in the semifinal match, where he lost by decision, 11-7. In the third place match, Brock wrestled Jakyb Kapp of Hampton-Dumont- CAL, as he lost a 6-1 decision.

Forest City’s Kristian Gunderson competed at 145 pounds, as he lost his semifinal match by technical fall to Joey Busse of Humboldt, 16-1. In the third place match, Gunderson lost a 3-2 decision to David Cornejo of Hampton-Dumont-CAL.

Neither wrestler advanced to the State wrestling tournament, which will be held later this week in Des Moines.
