First win for North Iowa Bison

The North Iowa Bison picked up their first win of the basket- ball season on Friday, Dec. 1 at Armstrong. The Bison squared off against North Union as they dominated the second half to win 60-39.

Taylor Baumann tallied 18 points to lead the Bison of- fense for the night, followed by Dominyk Price with 10. Bau- mann had 12 rebounds, and Isaiah Walk had 10. Jordan Boekelman made four steals.

“We were able to keep our composure and come away with our first win of the season,” said Coach Chad Hinders. “It was a book end game for us: good ear- ly, a struggle in the middle, and a very strong finish. We played well in the first quarter offen- sively but did not do a very good job recognizing their scorers on defense. We switched to a man defense in the second half, and that seemed to work.” The Bi- son outscored the Warriors 38- 13 in the second half.
