Eight twins among 35 North Iowa graduates

The 35 members of the North Iowa High School Class of 2017 will reach a milestone on Sunday, May 21, as they receive their diplomas at Commencement. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

One thing that makes this year’s graduating class unique is that nearly a quarter of its members are twins. The four sets of twins in the class: Cassidy and Natalie Sachs, the daughters of David and Renae Sachs of Lakota, Jared and Jacob Swearingen, the sons of Jay and Darcy Swearingen of Thompson, Sam and Rachel Hassebroek, the children of Steve and Sharla Hassebroek of Buffalo Center, Noah and Kendall Melz, the children of Randy and Jill Melz of Buffalo Center.
