Efforts underway to help victim’s family

Community members are coming together to organize a fundraiser for the family of Krista Hesebeck. Hesebeck, from Lakota, died March 3 in what authorities describe as a domestic assault, and her death has been ruled a homicide. She leaves behind three teenage children.

In order to help Hesebeck’s family with expenses, several concerned members of the community are organizing a fundraiser meal to be held at the Branding Iron on April 8.

The meal will include maid rites, chips, beans, cookies, and drinks for a freewill donation, and it will be held in the Roundup Room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
