Community Veterans Day program Friday

North Iowa Community School invites the public to attend a Veterans Day program this Friday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. in the North Iowa Auditorium.

The featured speaker this year is Wendy Krull, who has served with the U.S. Army for the past 15 years. She serves in the Army Nurse Corps and is currently attending school in Rochester, MN to earn her Doctorate of Nursing Practice. She is getting ready to head back to San Antonio, TX, in January, where she will be stationed at Fort Sam Houston.

Throughout her 15 years in the army, Krull has served overseas in Landstuhl, Germany, as well as various postings in the U.S. in Georgia, Texas, Hawaii, Washington state, and South Carolina.

Prior to joining the Army, she enlisted in the Iowa National Guard in Eagle Grove when she was 17. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Grand View University, and she joined the ROTC at Drake University in Des Moines. She says she joined the military because she wanted to take care of our soldiers.

Krull is originally from Britt and is a graduate of West Hancock. She is the daughter of Mark and Shelda Krull of Buffalo Center, and she has a brother, Eric.

Friday’s program at the school will also feature music by the North Iowa High School band and choir, student speakers April Soost and Jackson Berte, and local veterans.
