Community responds to help local family

Helping out with the bake sale, meal and auction fundraiser for the Krista Hesebeck family fundraiser on April 22 are, front from left: Brenna Paulson and Kenzy Jensvold. Back row: Mackenzie Bengtson, Sierra Billick, Jenna Govern, Willow Huitt, and Sadie Zittritsch.

Volunteers in the local communities came together on Sunday, April 22, to help a family tragically impacted by domestic violence.

Krista Lynn Hesebeck of Lakota was killed on March 3, leaving behind three teenage children. To help the family with the financial strain in this difficult time, a number of community members got together to host a maid rite fundraiser meal at the Roundup Room in Thompson. Proceeds from the meal, along with an auction held that day, will go toward the family.

Anyone who didn’t make it to the fundraiser but who would like to help the Hesebeck family can also make a contribution to the Krista Lynn Hesebeck Memorial Fund at Farmers Trust & Savings Bank in Buffalo Center and Lakota.
