Communities honor lives lost on Memorial Day

Dr. Paul “Kit” Carson returned to the podium for his third time as Buffalo Center’s Memorial Day speaker on Monday, May 28. Carson says the holiday is a time to honor the ordinary men and women who were compelled by their love of our country to serve. He said that since the American Revolution, more than one million Americans have given their lives while serving in the military. He says all of those lives contributed to the nation we are today. “As we mourn lives lost, we must celebrate lives lived and be grateful,” said Carson. He also encouraged everyone to teach their children the value of freedom. “Everyone must know that freedom does not come cheap.”
