Buffalo Center celebrates the Fourth

The annual Glow Run held in conjunction with Buffalo Center’s 4th of July celebration took place on Tuesday evening, July 3, with upwards of 120 participants. The 5K invites people to run, walk or bike their way along the route that began and ended at the intersection of N. Main St. and 2nd Ave. in Buffalo Center.

The big celebration on Wednesday, July 4 was mostly successful, although storms during the day led to some changes in plans. Music in the Park went forward in the afternoon, but the event was moved into the shelter house to keep folks dry. Featured acts included a reunion of Windy Creek. Some of the tents in the park didn’t stand up to the early afternoon storm, but the rain moved out for most of the afternoon and evening. North Iowa Betterment Director Beth Matheson says the only thing they had to call off was the face painting, as it was too humid out for the face paint to stick.
