Buffalo Center bar changes hands

Buckets Bar & Grill is the new name of Buffalo Center’s bar, as Brian Andersen of Buffalo Center has taken over as the new owner. Andersen purchased the bar, formerly called Oranges, from Troy Julius in March.

Andersen says he has worked off-and-on part-time for other bar owners, and when the opportunity came up to buy the local bar, he decided to make it happen.

His main job is at Precision Liquid Construction in Thompson, where he has worked in purchasing for about two years. He also owns several rental properties. While he doesn’t have a lot of time to work at the bar, Andersen handles the financial side of the business and helps with a lot of the cleaning. “I’d like to get into it more,” said Andersen. “That’s why I bought it.”

Andersen has lived in Buffalo Center since 2005, and he has an eight-year-old daughter, Gabby, who is a third grader at North Iowa Elementary School.
