Bison start season with three conference games

The North Iowa Bison opened their basketball season on November 27, as they traveled to Garner to face off with the Cardinals. The Bison fell into a 14- 41 hole in the first half, as they lost the match, 40-83.

“GHV shot well and defended well,” said Bison Head Coach Chad Hinders. “They caused us a lot of problems on both ends of the floor. We had looks but were unable to make shots. Their height and quickness forced us to do things at a quicker pace than we are used to. We only return one starter, and it took us a half to acclimate ourselves to the pace of the game.”

In the third quarter, the Bison adjusted and scored 21 points. It wasn’t enough, however, as Hinders notes the Cardinals also had their highest output in the third quarter, with 27 points, as they held their lead.
