Bison receive All-District football honors

     Six members of the 2015 North Iowa varsity football team received All-District honors following the completion of their 5-5 season in District 3 of Iowa 8-man football. Three Bison received First Team All-District recognition, while two were named to the Second Team and one received Honorable Mention.

     Senior Alex Paulson was a First Team honoree. A four-year starter on defense for North Iowa, this is Paulson’s third time receiving All-District honors. Last season, he was also a Second Team All-State selection by the Iowa Newspaper Association and the Des Moines Register.

     Senior Hunter Gelhaus is another First Team All-District selection for North Iowa, and he also received Academic All-District Honorable Mention. He is a three-year starter for the Bison, and he is a two-time First Team All-District selection and two-time Honorable Mention for Academic All-District.

     Junior Spencer Armstrong is the third First Team All-District selection for the Bison. A two-year starter at quarterback, Armstrong rewrote the record books at North Iowa this season. He set new high marks for the most rushing yards, touchdowns and total yards in a game, and he also set new records in rushing yards, total yards and scoring for a season. He also tied the record in passing touchdowns for a season at North Iowa.

     Senior Steven Milbrandt was a Second Team All-District selection for the Bison this year, after taking Honorable Mention last season.  Junior Austin Haisman was the other Second Team selection for North Iowa. Senior Josiah Beenken received All-District Honorable Mention this season.
