Bison pick up second win

The Bison snapped a 10 game losing streak on Friday, June 17, when they defeated the Rockford Warriors 10-3 on the road.

“The Bison players have struggle with three major things all season: making errors while fielding, pitching, and leaving men on base. The Bison that came to play today were able to overcome the struggle with those three issues and get our second win of the year,” said Coach Baker. “We left the bases loaded after the first inning and were winning 2-0. We had a brief conversation between innings, and I told them that we had to make the critical hits or sacrifice hits while we had runners in scoring positions, and then next inning all the Bison players did just that. We put up five runs in the second inning, and we coasted with high morale from then to the finish line after seven innings.

“Noah Paulson pitched a gem of a seven inning game and struck out more than a third of the 21 outs we needed in the game,” added Baker. “All in all, this game shows just how dominant and competitive the Bison can be when we come ready to play.”

Gelhaus led the Bison with four hits for the night, followed by Armstrong and Alex Paulson with two hits each.
