Bison fall to top ranked Don Bosco

The North Iowa football team faced their toughest challenge of the year last Friday night, when they hosted top-ranked Don Bosco. The Dons overran the Bison, holding them to just 39 yards of offense on the night, as North Iowa lost, 0-69.

Don Bosco shot out to a 41-0 in the first quarter, as they scored on six touchdowns, made three of their point-after kicks and had one successful two-point conversion. The Dons scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter, followed by one each in the third and fourth. They scored their final points of the night with a tackle against North Iowa quarterback Hunter Meinders in the end zone for a safety.

Meinders threw for 87 yards on the night, including a 33-yard pass to Noah Hofmann and a 31-yard pass to Luke Baumann. Those gains were largely offset as the Dons shut down the Bison’s running game, including targeting Meinders for 52 lost yards.
